Spend a Summer Day in St. Joseph, MI | Cressy & Everett

Lake Michigan has been described as "the perfect blend of tranquility and adventure." That ambiance also encompasses St. Joseph, as demonstrated by these entertaining summer activities that are favorites of our real estate agents.

  • Silver Beach County Park - 101 Broad St., St. Joseph, MI 49085
Enjoy a sunny summer day on the shores of Lake Michigan at Silver Beach County Park. With a spacious 1,600-foot-long public beach, the park is a perfect spot for the whole family to swim and sunbathe. Dry-land features include volleyball courts, playgrounds, and BBQ grills. Rent a canoe or stand-up paddleboard and take in the views from out on the water, or stroll the walkway to the South Pier to see the iconic St.Joseph Lighthouse. Leashed dogs are welcome on the sidewalks. Hours are dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Admission is free, with a daily parking fee of $8 for Berrien County residents and $15 for non-residents.

  • Silver Beach Center - 333 Broad St., St. Joseph, MI 49085
Remember the joys of riding a carousel? Help your kids create their own memories at Silver Beach Center. The colorful, whimsical ride is patterned after the original carousel from Silver Beach Amusement Park in the early 20th century. Learn more about this beloved part of St. Joseph's past at the Silver Beach Amusement Park Museum. Don't miss Curious Kids' Discovery Zone, where learning is disguised as interactive exhibits. Hours are noon - 9 p.m. daily. Visit the website for pricing.

  • White Pine Winery - 317 State St., St. Joseph, MI 49085
Sample world-class wines just minutes from St. Joseph homes for sale at White Pine Winery. "Dr. Dave" Miller, a South Bend native, chose southwestern Michigan as the place to raise his family and establish his vineyards. Thanks to his extensive academic and hands-on experience, Dave is often in demand for seminars, presentations, and teaching. The tasting room offers samples of five wines for $10. You can even take a glass with you while exploring the Downtown Social District. White Pine Winery is open 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday through August 31.

  • Southwest Michigan Cycleboat - 800 Whitwam Drive, St. Joseph, MI 49085
Cycling on dry land is so last century. Get a nice workout as you socialize with family and friends on the Harbor Hopper from Southwest Michigan Cycleboat. The pontoon-style boat includes 10 pedal barstools and a six-seat bench to accommodate 16 guests. Bring your own food and drinks and keep them handy in the coolers and storage areas behind the mahogany bar. Make new friends or assemble a group to rent the entire boat for the two-hour tour. Kids under 12 are permitted on private tours only. Visit the website for information on pricing and booking.

  • Brown Bag Concert Series - Howard Bandshell, 550 Port St., St. Joseph, MI 49085
Live music isn't reserved for only evenings and weekends. Whether you're spending the day working or playing, take in the sounds of summer at the Brown Bag Concert Series. Bring a lunch and bask in fresh air and sunshine as you listen to performers in a variety of genres, from classic rock and golden oldies to blues and jazz. Shows are scheduled from noon - 1 p.m. every Wednesday from July 17 through August 28 and admission is free.

Whether you're buying or selling a home in St. Joseph, we can bring a sense of tranquility to the adventure. Contact us at Cressy & Everett Real Estate to learn more.
