Winter Weather Sports - Michiana - Cressy & Everett Real Estate

Winter is upon us in Michiana, the little corner of northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan centered around South Bend. Our real estate agents are excited to finally be able to get outside and enjoy some of our favorite winter sports.

The colder months have a lot to offer in the South Bend area, from skiing and snowboarding to sledding and winter hiking. Be sure to check out these fun winter hot spots this season!

  • St. Patrick's County Park - 50651 Laurel Rd, South Bend, IN 46637
    St. Patrick's County Park is one of the most popular spots in the South Bend area for cross-country skiing. The park is home to many miles of trails, arranged in loops that give skiers plenty of options. The landscape of forests, meadows, ponds, and picturesque river frontage always provide interesting scenery. St. Patrick's County Park is minutes away from many South Bend homes for sale and is also a popular destination to spot bald eagles in the area.

  • Oselka Park - 601 E Indiana St, New Buffalo, MI 49117
    Nestled in the cozy community of New Buffalo, Michigan, Oselka Park is a multi-use public park that draws many visitors year-round. In winter, the sledding hill is one of the park's biggest attractions. The snowy slopes give kids (and the young at heart) an opportunity to fly themselves downhill with abandon. Oselka Park is also home to a public ice skating rink in winter, open daily from dawn until dusk when conditions permit. 

  • Ferrettie/Baugo Creek County Park - 57057 Ash Rd, Osceola, IN 46561
    Ferrettie/Baugo Creek County Park spans just over 200 acres along its namesake stream, with several excellent trails for snowshoeing and winter hiking. Located just a short drive from these Osceola, IN homes for sale, the park is also home to a snow tubing hill that always proves to be a popular winter destination. 

  • Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area - 13421 Mann St, Jones, MI 49061
    For 50 years, Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area has been one of Southwestern Michigan's top destinations for winter sports. With 11 runs and varied terrain, it's a great place for skiers and snowboarders to get their adrenaline pumping. Swiss Valley also offers ski rentals and lessons, a full-service ski shop, and a cozy chalet lounge, although we expect some services to be scaled-down dor the 2020/21 season. The slopes are convenient for many Jones homes for sale. 

  • Warren Dunes State Park - 12032 Red Arrow Hwy, Sawyer, MI 49125
    There's a stark beauty to the landscape of Warren Dunes State Park in winter. Famous for its towering sand dunes overlooking Lake Michigan's vast expanse, it's one of Michigan's most popular parks. In winter, the lofty dunes become excellent sledding and tubing slopes, and the park's extensive trail system is perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

  • Sarett Nature Center - 2300 N Benton Center Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022
    Encompassing over 1,000 acres of forests and marshy bottomlands near the Paw Paw River, Sarett Nature Center is an incredible place to immerse yourself in the natural world. The nature center's 8-mile network of trails remains open throughout the winter months for hiking and cross-country skiing. Sarett Nature Center remains a great place for bird watching, nature viewing, and photography as well. It's located a stone's throw from these Benton Harbor homes for sale.
